Great no frill place with a clear Texan ambiance. Super fun staff, and also efficient. The food is focused on high quality steaks, and they are absolutely very well cooked

Southern charm is alive and well at The Ranch, where you can enjoy everything from prime rib to ceviche to mac and cheese.

The chicken fried chicken is one of my favorite options, and I tend to bring visitors here to enjoy the atmosphere and live music and give them a true taste of Texas.

Enjoy some cocktails with your meal, and finish up with the pecan pie: a must-try. Make sure to book a reservation if you have a specific time you want to eat, as it can fill up due to how good it is!

This neighborhood Italian is one of the best restaurants in Irving if you want somewhere welcoming and casual, a perfect place to meet family and friends who are in town.

Their thin crust pizza is amazing, and while I usually go for the shrimp scampi and spaghetti combo, they have other great options like salads, lasagna, and some great dessert options.

The food is always fresh and made with the highest quality of ingredients (trust me, you can taste the difference), and I never go wrong recommending this place.

Burger Island has been around Irving for seemingly forever, and for good reason – their burgers and sides are so good.

It’s no frills, just friendliness and amazing burgers with big portions of fries or sweet potato fries.

Try the mushroom burger if you’re veggie, or go for the Jungle burger and grilled chicken if you want different.

The burgers are fresh to order, no frozen options here – a great place to stop in Irving when you need something to eat that’s hearty and fast.

10. Dave’s Hot Chicken

This place definitely surprised me. The food was great, the sauce, the chicken even the fries.

Come for the ramen and stay for the Japanese style seating at Mr. Max Izakaya’s, one of the coolest places to go in Irving.

It’s a great place to celebrate special occasions, and I always get the beef bowl or the pan fried squid.

It’s authentic Japanese cuisine, often featuring a line out the door if you haven’t made a reservation (all good signs of its quality), and the sushi is top notch.

Try the fried tuna roll, the barikata noodles, or the octopus.

14. Irving Kabab N Kurry

Head to Kabab N Kurry to try their Nepalese options, including chicken fried rice, tikka masala momo and mutton soup.

The prices are super affordable and it’s a really great option if you want a casual dine-in experience.

There are veggie options as well as meat dishes, and the egg fried rice is some of the best around.

My husband usually gets the paneer chow mein and potato chili, and I promised him I’d write that down, so, there you go – another recommendation! Β

This is the spot in Irving for some Cajun-inspired food, whether you want the chicken fried steak, the roast beef, the catfish and shrimp platter, or another one of their delicious options.

We come here regularly to meet friends, as the service is always great and the menu options are extensive so everyone always finds something they’re in the mood for.

Plus, the portions are big, and my stomach appreciates that.

16. Empa Mundo

This is a counter service restaurant in Irving that features the absolute best empanadas, filled with everything from spicy chicken to chorizo.

The banana and nutella for dessert is SO good, and the spinach and ricotta option is also a great one. It’s definitely the best empanada place near Dallas, and the interior is so colorfully decorated.

We’ve never had a bad experience here and think it’s pretty much a 10/10 for quick service, delicious food, and a welcoming and happy vibe.
